Dispatchers (Msdd)

Definition
The persons responsible for having scheduled runs leave the yard or garage on time, and maintaining the schedules, and matching the work force with the work load on a minute-by-minute basis. Also, in rail transit, the persons who control train movement or priority on a given segment (division) of track. Or, in demand-responsive transportation, persons who assign the customers to vehicles and notify the appropriate drivers. (Source: AASHTO Glossary)
