Swales (Pmhpdv)

Definition
Wide, shallow ditches usually grassed or paved and without well-defined bed and banks. Slight depressions in the ground surface where water collects and which may be transported as a stream. Often vegetated and shaped so as not to provide a visual signature of a bank or shore. (Source: AASHTO Glossary)
