Pavement management systems (Fmmmp)

A set of tools or methods that assist decision-makers in finding optimum strategies for providing, evaluating, and maintaining pavements in a serviceable condition over a period of time. Or, the process of coordinating and controlling a comprehensive set of activities in order to maintain pavements, so as to make the best possible use of resources available, i.e., maximize the benefits for society. Also, a management approach used by personnel in an agency to make decisions, especially cost-effective decisions as identified in the Pavement Management System (PMS). (Source: AASHTO Glossary)
