Definition
Facings such as stone or concrete, used to add support to an embankment. Also rigid or flexible armor placed on a bank or embankment as protection against scour and lateral erosion. Also, a channel bank protection method consisting of a continuous stone toe-fill along the base of a bank slope with intermittent fillets of stone placed perpendicular to the toe and extending back into the natural bank.
