Flumes (Pmhjyh)

Definition
Open or closed channels used to convey water. An open conduit of such things as wood, concrete, or metal on a prepared grade, trestle, or bridge. A flume holds water as a complete structure. A concrete lined canal would still be a canal without the lining, but the lining supported independently would be a flume. A large flume is also termed an aqueduct. (Source: AASHTO Glossary)
