Constrictions (Smdffdce)

Compressed or constricted sections or reaches of channels which may be a natural condition or one produced by raising the bottom (as a sill or dam), or contracting the width (as a highway embankment on a flood plain), or both. Also, control sections, such as bridge crossings, channel reaches, sills or dams, with limited flow capacity in which the discharge is related to the upstream water surface elevation.
