Laminar flow (Smdffi)

Definition
That type of flow in which each particle moves in a direction parallel to every other particle and in which the head loss is approximately proportional to the first power of the velocity. It is sometimes designated streamline flow or viscous flow. (Source: AASHTO Glossary)
