Block cracking (Smfdpbe)

Definition
A pattern of cracks that divide the pavement into approximately rectangular pieces, ranging in size from approximately 0.1 m by 0.1 m to 10 m by 10 m (1 to 100 ft square). Also, a series of interconnected cracks that extend only into the upper portion of the slab. (Source: AASHTO Glossary)
