Definition
Locations where a highway crosses a channel by allowing high annual or larger flows to pass over the highway and lower flows to pass through a culvert(s). Often used with cutoff walls, roadway lane markers and paved roadway embankments and traveled way (and shoulders). Warning signs may be included. (Source: AASHTO Glossary)
