Information infrastructure and data (Xi)

Definition
Data assets such as data sets and databases. Includes standards and technologies used to curate and provide access to data assets, and the guidance and policies that inform the use and management of data assets and the data infrastructure itself. Information infrastructure is the infrastructure that supports the information society: the equipment, systems, applications, support systems, etc. that are needed for operating in the information society.
